The games are coming thick and fast now, with AFC Wimbledon the next visitors to Grenoble Road. Will Jack Midson return to take revenge for being released in the summer, or will he be contained as easily as on Boxing Day? Here is Matt Peck to examine the stats between the two sides.

OTHER STATS

The last time the two met it was live on Sky Sports 1 on Boxing Day. The festive period was enjoyed more by Oxford. A strong first half and then a professional defensive display in the second secured the points for Oxford.

The last ( and only) time the newly-formed AFC Wimbledon visited the Kassam was back in 2010. Oxford again enjoyed a 2-0 win thanks to James Constable brace and the fact that Wimbledon were down to 10 men by the hour mark.

Wimbledon have never scored away to Oxford since their reformation. Indeed, they have only had one shot on target against Oxford.

The win for the U’s in February 2010 gave them a 9 point lead over Stevenage. By the 23^rd March, exactly a month later. Oxford were 3^rd, having gained just one point in that time, and now 6 points behind leaders Stevenage. By the end of the season, they were 13 points adrift of eventual winners Stevenage, a swing of 22 points in 16 games.

Wimbledon’s season has been mixed. But mixed heavily on the side of defeats. A storming start to the season saw them register 7 wins in 12 games, propelling them briefly into 3^rd place. But a run of 12 games without a win (including the defeat by the Yellows) and only 3 draws sent them down to 17^th. Since their brilliant opening 12 games, Wimbledon have only won 5 of their next 25 games. In contrast Oxford have won 9 games in the same period of time.

Wimbledon have fared better away from home, winning 6 of their 18 away games so far. They have however not won in their last 5 away games.

Wimbledon have the fewest clean sheets away from home this season, managing it just 4 times.

Oxford have conceded just 18 goals at home all season, which is the lowest in the league and the same number as Morecambe and Torquay.

If Oxford win on Tuesday, it will be the 4^th team that they have done the double over this season. It will be the third time Wimbledon have had the double done to them if Oxford were to win.
