A major test for Oxford this week, with Andy Scott's Rotherham United visiting the Kassam Stadium, looking to peg the Yellows back in the race for the playoffs. It's another important fixture for Oxford, as we enter the final stages of the season. Matt Peck gives us the lowdown on a fixture that could turn out to be pivotal to our season. Oxford and Rotherham had met every season from 1976 to 1984, but have only played at the Kassam twice.

Rotherham have won at Oxford twice in the history of this league fixture, but this was on the first two visits to Oxford in 1977. Since then they have either lost, or got a 1-1 draw. In fact, they have scored on every visit except for a 1-0 defeat in 1978.

Oxford have squandered 14 points from winning positions this season, but have never lost a game after taking the lead. These extra points would place Oxford second. Rotherham on the other hand have lost 17 points from winning positions, including 3 defeats.

These two met on the opening day of the season and the expectation from pre-season for Oxford was too much, as the side slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat thanks to a well-taken goal from Grabban. Rotherham enjoyed a solid start to the season, topping the table briefly, but have slipped of late and now find themselves in 10^th, 5 points behind Oxford.
