What the Stats Say...Barnet

As seems to have been the case all season with our opponents, it is an in-form Barnet who make the relatively short trip to Oxford for this rearranged game, as well as a return for former player Sam Deering. Matt Peck looks over the stats ahead of the match.

OTHER STATS

Barnet come to the Kassam in the finest form they have had since September 2009, when they briefly topped League Two.

Oxford have been solid if unspectacular of late, only losing once in the last 11 games, but also only winning 4 in that time. Nevertheless, they have consolidated their 7th place and have a two point gap to 8th placed Port Vale.

The referee for the game is Michael Naylor. He is best known to Oxford fans as the referee who adjudicated the Conference play off final between Oxford and York City in May 2010. He also refereed the game between Oxford and Accrington Stanley last season, which finished 0-0. He has also been the man in the middle for two of Barnet’s games last season.

Barnet have never beaten Oxford, and have only scored once at the Kassam in the short history of this fixture.

Sam Deering could make his first return to Oxford United’s ground, having signed for Barnet on a permanent basis. He might get a frosty reception after his antics in the reverse fixture which saw Jake Wright sent off.

Barnet have struggled against top half opposition (at the time of playing) this season, winning only twice from 15 games – these wins coming against Accrington and Crewe.
